Christmas in Pembrokeshire 2023
With the air getting colder and the evenings getting darker the festive period is nearly upon us – my favourite time of the year. Pembrokeshire really comes to life in the Winter with the twinkling lights and the quiet streets, it’s the perfect time to visit and experience the magic yourself.
Picton Castle Christmas Fair
Usually, the first Christmas fair in Pembrokeshire is held at Picton Castle, the theme for 2023 is ‘Woodland Treasures’ perfectly suited to the wonderful surroundings of Picton Castle. There will be over 60 stalls, a chance to explore the castle and the grounds, food and drink in Maria’s Restaurant and entry to The Welsh Owl Garden and Zoo. The Christmas Fair will be held on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th November, 10am to 4pm.
Santa’s Grotto at Folly Farm
Every weekend between 11th November and 23rd December you’ll get the chance to meet Santa and his dashing elves at Folly Farm. Not only will the main man himself be there but you will also get to see his reindeer, little ones will receive a gift and adults will get to enjoy a mulled wine and mince pie too.
Wreath making in the courtyard
Join Flowers by Annabel in Penally Abbey courtyard for a festive wreath making workshop. There will be two sessions per day one at 11am and another at 3pm and the opportunity to add on a delicious festive afternoon tea. The workshops will be held on 19th, 16th and 26th November and 3rd December and must be pre booked in advance.
Pembroke Castle Christmas Market
Pembroke Castle have been running their Christmas Market since 2012, it’s a firm favourite in Pembrokeshire with over 80 stalls to explore and will be held on 24th, 25th and 26th November. The castle looks magical with the illuminations and the highlight of the weekend is Santa’s arrival at 6.30pm on the Friday.
Big Christmas Paint Along
Ronni’z in Tenby will be holding an adult paint along on 30th November where you can get creative with local artist Rachel Rasmussen and enjoy a finger buffet and festive cocktails. It’s the perfect opportunity to get together with family and friends and try something different. Pre-booking is essential via Ronni’s website.
Christmas Illuminations at Carew Castle
‘Let it Glow’ is back for 2023 at Carew Castle, where enchanting light displays make a magical garden in the castle grounds. There’s fun for all the family with ‘glow in the dark’ games, a reindeer trail and a visit to Santa’s grotto in the walled garden. It will be held from 1st to 17th December, 4.30 to 7.30pm and Santa’s grotto must be pre-booked.
Family Paint Along
Local artist Rachel Rasmussen will be holding a family paint along at The De Valance Pavilion, Tenby on 9th December. It will be a chance for families to enjoy some time together painting ‘Percy the penguin’ and taking their masterpiece home. Tickets are available to purchase here.
